Monika Hohlmeier is a member of the European People’s Party and of the German party CSU. She was member of the Bavarian parliament from 1993 to 1998 and later became Bavarian State Minister for Education and Schools (1998-2005). Since 2009, she has been a member of the European Parliament. She is Vice-Chair of the Committee on Budgets, member of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs, and member of the Delegation for relations with the People’s Republic of China. MEP Hohlmeier is also the President of the Sky and Space Intergroup in the European Parliament. Her parliamentary work is focused on issues such as security and the fight against terrorism.
